Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into the butter mixture.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  8. Let stand on baking sheets for 2 minutes before moving to wire racks to cool completely.

Recipe Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Cookie dough can be frozen for up to 3 months.
